Gifts to 61st Annual Michigan Regional Junior Science & Humanities Symposium Poster Session contribute to...
The Michigan Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) Program event is hosted by the College of Education at Wayne State University. Students from high schools state-wide are invited to an in-person symposium, where they present their research before a panel of judges, participate in tours of selected science laboratories and campus facilities, and interact with peers and professional science researchers throughout the day. Finalists are notified of their selection to advance to the National Symposium during the Awards ceremony.
The Department of Defense (DoD) and National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) fund scholarships for finalists of each JSHS Program event. Five finalists are selected from up to 35 high school students who have participated in this competition by formally presenting their research orally, to a panel of judges. These finalists advance to the National JSHS, for an opportunity to earn additional scholarships.
We would like to raise funds to support awarding prizes for a Poster session, at the regional JSHS, to accommodate freshmen/sophomore level researchers, to develop their research skills and help them prepare for future success in the oral competition.
