Giving Day contributions of every size make a major difference! Support one of the Dean's Priorities below or give to another area that helps the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

• Ready! Set! Give! On Giving Day, once 50 first-time donors make a gift to CLAS, a generous $50,000 gift from an anonymous donor will be unlocked!
• But that's not all! Once 100 donors make a gift to CLAS, a generous $3,000 gift from Dean Stephanie Hartwell will be unlocked!
• Double your impact! Kristina and Paul Devine will match donations to the CLAS Scholarship Fund – up to $1,000.

A degree in the liberal arts and sciences does more than uncover career pathways. Through rigorous study and unparalleled experiential learning, CLAS students discover new ways of seeing themselves and engaging with the world.

• Gifts supporting the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Annual Fund help provide college-wide resources. These include expanding our ability to support a range of educational opportunities, awards for student travel to professional conferences, community outreach, events and programs, funding for student and faculty research, emergency support for students and more.
• Support the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Internship Program as we create paid internship opportunities for students across all twenty departments. Internships maximize a student's education and provide invaluable real-world experience. And because CLAS partners with local organizations, corporations and nonprofits, students can gain experience in the industries that power Detroit. The average internship for CLAS students requires significant time, eight hours per week for 11 weeks, and can cause students to miss out on paid work opportunities estimated at $1,500. That commitment of time and money is in addition to their coursework, textbooks and supplies, and often a full- or part-time job. Your gift can go a long way in making sure a student doesn’t have to choose between a career-shaping internship experience and earning a living.
• Contributions to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Scholarship directly impact students by helping to make education accessible – keeping the college competitive with peers and ensuring that students have the financial support they need to complete their educational programs from one of our twenty majors.
