WDET proudly celebrated its 75th anniversary last year. For more than three-quarters of a century, listeners across Southeast Michigan have tuned in for trusted, fact-based journalism from our award-winning reporters and storytellers. They have also enjoyed hours of music programming found nowhere else on the radio—curated by local artists and hosts whose deep knowledge and passion for great music enrich Detroit’s cultural landscape every day.

Detroit Radio Information Service (DRIS)

Giving Tuesday is a day to show your support for Detroit Radio Information Service (DRIS).

DRIS is a comprehensive service provided by WDET- Detroit’s Public Radio station, to visually impaired individuals connecting our community’s most underserved population group to life-changing information. Since 1978, DRIS has filled an information void in the blind and print-impaired population by offering a simple method of accessing printed and visual news and information published in hundreds of daily, weekly, and monthly periodicals. DRIS partners with El Central Hispanic News, The Detroit Jewish News and the Michigan Chronicle to offer even more, news, public affairs and cultural programming.
