About

Giving Day contributions of every size make a major difference! Support one of these projects today or give to another area that supports the work of the Office of Inclusive Excellence.

  • Let's hit 10 and show inclusion wins! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’› In honor of Wayne State's 10th Giving Day, once 10 donors make a gift to any Office of Inclusive Excellence designation, a $2,400 gift from Heather Mourer will be unlocked!

Office of Inclusive Excellence

The Office of Inclusive Excellence is committed to fostering a diverse learning and working environment where all members of our community feel included. The Office of Inclusive Excellence leads many of the initiatives to cultivate that environment. We host cultural programming and community building initiatives to support the creation of an inclusive campus community. For example, the video shows Kaitlyn James, an intern in the Office of Inclusive Excellence, as she works on projects that make a positive impact on the campus community. Our work is both focused on our campus and the local community. Our initiatives can span from organizational culture and leadership development workshops for our employees to collaborations with local nonprofits to support youth pathways to four-year degrees. Learn more about our work by visiting our website.

Marquita Chamblee Endowed Social Justice Scholarship

Marquita Chamblee Endowed Social Justice Scholarship recognizes students whose actions cultivate and advance inclusion efforts within the campus community. We are getting closer to the endowed scholarship minimum, and every gift can help us ensure this scholarship is available at WSU for years to come.

Gifts made in honor of Marquita Chamblee will be directed to create the Marquita Chamblee Endowed Student Social Justice Scholarship. This fund will recognize students whose actions cultivate and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the campus community. If the $25,000 minimum threshold for creating a named endowed fund is not met, the funds will be used for a purpose as close as possible to the original intent of the donors, which is to support opportunities for students within the Office of Inclusive Excellence. Individuals that make a gift to this fund agree that their gifts may be redirected to a fund that most closely resembles the endowed fund.

Achieve your charitable goals and create your WSU legacy with a gift in your estate plan.
