Electrical and Computer Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the James and Patricia Anderson College of Engineering is one of the collegeβs strongest engines of student opportunity, innovation, and research impact. As the number one department in growth across the college, ECE is expanding rapidly to meet student demand and workforce needs, with undergraduate enrollment up approximately 30 percent and graduate enrollment up 40 percent.
Your support helps sustain this momentum. ECE is also a rising research leader, with research funds increasing by roughly 300 percent over the past three years. In the last two years alone, the department has secured more than $3 million in research grants in semiconductor education, strengthening hands-on training, curriculum innovation, and pathways to high-demand careers. Donor support can amplify this impact by expanding student access to scholarships, experiential learning, travel opportunities, and capstone design resources.
- Capstone Design Innovation Help support senior capstone teams as they move from concept to prototype. Gifts can help cover essential project expenses such as components, fabrication, testing materials, software licenses, and presentation/demo costs, allowing students to build more ambitious and industry-relevant solutions.
- ECE Student Travel Grant Donations will help provide travel support for undergraduate and graduate students to attend conferences, competitions, research meetings, and professional development events. Donor contributions help reduce financial barriers so students can present their work, build networks, and gain exposure to national and international engineering communities.
- ECE Scholarships and Student Success Contributions will provide direct scholarship support to ECE students with financial need and/or strong academic promise. Giving to this initiative helps students stay focused on coursework, research, and career preparation by easing the burden of tuition and related educational expenses.
