The Center for Gender and Sexuality at Wayne State University combines research, teaching, student services, community engagement and activism related to gender and sexuality in keeping with the university's values and priorities.

• Through the generosity of one of our biggest champions, a new discretionary fund has been created to allow the center to maintain our services and remain responsive and innovative in an ever-changing landscape – the Michael P. LaGatella Support Fund. Gifts supporting the Michael P. LaGatella Support Fund will give us flexibility to address the most urgent needs of the students we support. Gifts of all sizes help show the university that our stakeholders care about our work and allow us to offer a safe space with resources that a student like Mike could have used in his time at Wayne State. We plan to use this fund to respond to student emergencies, provide support for non-tuition costs like housing and meals, develop a student internship program, build collaborative initiatives across campus, and more.
