Detroit Radio Information Service (DRIS)
Giving Day is a day to show your support for the Detroit Radio Information Service (DRIS).
DRIS is a comprehensive service provided by WDET, Detroit’s public radio station, to visually impaired individuals connecting our community’s most under-served population group to life-changing information. Since 1978, DRIS has filled an information void in the blind and print-impaired population by offering a simple method of accessing printed and visual news and information published in daily, weekly, and monthly periodicals. DRIS partners with EL CENTRAL Hispanic News, The Detroit Jewish News and the Michigan Chronicle. DRIS also has a book club and a monthly poetry reading that brings entertainment to its audience. DRIS also has a book club that brings entertainment to its audience. DRIS has public affairs programming specifically for and about its target audience of blind and print-impaired people.
A donation of any amount during Giving Day will help contribute to the 8,760 hours of news and information programming DRIS airs annually!
