Each day, over 400 Warrior student-athletes across 13 Wayne State University (WSU) Athletics programs (18 teams) proudly don the Green & Gold. From August to May, they compete at the conference, regional, and national levels, driven by countless hours of preparation—studying film, building strength, and perfecting their game plans—all in pursuit of victory. But their commitment extends far beyond competition. These student-athletes balance rigorous academic schedules, dedicating themselves to their studies while also making a difference in the community through service initiatives. Their ability to excel in the classroom, give back, and compete at the highest level is a testament to their resilience, discipline, and Warrior spirit.

Today, these Warriors face a new challenge in the inaugural WSU Athletic Department-wide competition: The Warrior Challenge!

The Warrior Challenge is a department-wide fundraising competition in which each of our 13 athletic programs will compete—not on the field, court, pool, course, or track, but in raising crucial funds to support their teams. With a collective goal of $50,000, each program will rally support to enhance their student-athlete experience. Plus, the stakes are high—teams that lead in the following categories will each receive an additional $2,000 toward their operational budgets:
