Giving Day contributions of every size make a major difference! Support one of these projects today or give to another area that helps the School of Medicine.
Medical Alumni Annual Fund
Today only, your donation to the Medical Alumni Annual Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the School of Medicine Board of Governors β up to $58,000!
The Medical Alumni Annual Fund (MAAF) supports an ambitious array of programs and resources designed to enrich and expand unique learning experiences for students in the School of Medicine. Contributions to the MAAF have a direct and immediate impact on our students' academic success and professional growth.
White Coat Sponsorship Program
Support a time-honored tradition by sponsoring a white coat for an incoming member of the Wayne State University School of Medicineβs Class of 2028. Acceptance of a white coat represents the commitment that each physician-in-training makes to practice compassionate, patient-centric medical care. It also serves as a reminder of the ideals that set all Warrior M.D.s apart: the privilege of medical education comes with the responsibility of service to the community.
Sponsorship Levels: $100 -- 1 White Coat | $300 -- 3 White Coats | $500 -- 5 White Coats | $1,000 -- 10 White Coats
Qhealth Endowed Postdoctoral Fellowship
The vision of the Qhealth Endowed Postdoctoral Fellowship is to contribute to clinical excellence by developing physicians who are competent in caring for diverse populations. These trained medical professionals, highly skilled experts upon completion of the fellowship, will go on in their careers to serve as clinicians and educators in providing LGBTQ+ care.
The Qhealth Endowed Postdoctoral Fellowship initiative sparked from School of Medicine faculty member Diane Levine, M.D. β82, FACP, professor of Internal Medicine and vice chair of Education for the Department of Internal Medicine. Detroitβs alarming care gaps inspired Dr. Levine to give back to the department, its residents and, ultimately, its LGBTQ+ patient population. Educational programs such as Qhealth are critical components of the School of Medicineβs mission-driven efforts. With your support, we can continue to design initiatives to meet the needs of our students and our communities with the ultimate goal of health and wellness for all.
Charles F. Whitten, M.D. Post Baccalaureate Endowment Fund
In 1969, the Post Baccalaureate Program was established by Charles F. Whitten, M.D., as the first program of its kind in the country. A non-degree-granting initiative for qualified, low-income students seeking admission to medical school, the Post Baccalaureate encourages diversity in health care professions by increasing the number of physicians from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds. With more than 50 years providing premedical academic opportunities for underrepresented and first-generation students, the Post Baccalaureate program has created a legacy of success. You can be a part of the program's legacy of success with your gift today.
