Friday Night Lights
Nearly every Friday evening the WSU Planetarium offers free shows to our community, welcoming community members onto our campus for dynamic scientific shows. We are committed to making science accessible to all members of the community, regardless of income or education level. We rely on the generous contributions of donors to defray the costs of these shows. Our goal this year is to cover the costs of our Friday night public programs through the end of 2024. In 2020, through a combination of Wayne State and donor funding, we were able to purchase a new planetarium projector, but due to pandemic closures and the Detroit floods in 2021, we were not able to make this fabulous state of the art system available to the public until late in 2022. We are thrilled to have the public back in the Planetarium again to learn from our outstanding student presenters from the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
Achieve your charitable goals and create your WSU legacy with a gift in your estate plan.
Wayne State faculty and staff can give via payroll deduction here.
Thank you to our donors! Whether a neutron star or a red supergiant, you are all stars in our universe!
