Wayne State University is committed to fostering a diverse learning and working environment where all members of our community feel included. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement lead many of the initiatives to cultivate that environment. We spearhead strategic and university-wide initiatives like the DEI Council. We also host cultural programming to build community and learn, educational workshops on inclusion and intercultural competence, and celebratory pre-commencement events. Marquita Chamblee Endowed Social Justice Scholarship
The Marquita Chamblee Endowed Social Justice Scholarship recognizes students whose actions cultivate and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the campus community. We are getting closer to the endowed scholarship minimum, and every gift can help us ensure this scholarship is available at WSU for years to come.
Gifts made in honor of Marquita Chamblee will be directed to create the Marquita Chamblee Endowed Student Social Justice Scholarship. This fund will recognize students whose actions cultivate and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the campus community. If the $25,000 minimum threshold for creating a named endowed fund is not met, the funds will be used for a purpose as close as possible to the original intent of the donors, which is to support opportunities for students within the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
